A superyacht itinerary through the Aegean is a masterpiece of logistics on the water. The ground component — what happens when the tender reaches the pontoon at each island — is often treated as an afterthought. FFGR Greece treats it as the continuation of the same service standard. When the tender from a 60-metre yacht reaches Mykonos New Port at 11 am, the vehicle waiting at the gate is as carefully prepared as the vessel they just left.
Pre-Season Briefing and Itinerary Registration
At the start of the charter season, FFGR Greece requests the provisional itinerary from the charter manager or the yacht captain. This document — typically covering 8 to 14 island stops — allows us to pre-position vehicles at each destination and identify specific requirements for each stop.
For itineraries that change frequently (which most do, because the Aegean wind and the principal's preferences change daily), we maintain a 24-hour operations line for the captain. The driver at the next destination receives the revised ETA automatically.
Tender Arrival Protocol
The driver confirms the tender's departure from the yacht via the captain's WhatsApp, positions at the marina gate 15 minutes before expected arrival, and holds a discreet name card at the exit from the pontoon walkway. A luggage handler is present for transfers involving more than four pieces.
For marina arrivals after 10 pm — common on Mykonos, Ios, and Santorini — we use night team protocol: no crowd-exposed positioning, immediate vehicle ingress, and a route to the villa or hotel that avoids tourist circuits.
Multi-Principal Yacht Programmes
A charter yacht frequently carries principals with divergent requirements: the owner visiting an archaeological site, children needing a water sports centre, and a business partner requiring a quiet car for a conference call. FFGR Greece manages all three simultaneously with three separate vehicles, each briefed on its specific programme.
We never ask principals to share a vehicle unless they wish to. Each group is independent. The captain receives a single coordination confirmation: all vehicles assigned, all programmes active, all principals returned to the marina by 5:30 pm.
