Paros — The Perfect Cycladic Island
Paros offers what its more famous neighbours cannot: Mykonos' cosmopolitan energy without the excess; Santorini's Cycladic architecture without the crowds. The island's capital, Parikia, contains a 4th-century marble cathedral. Its northern harbour, Naoussa, has evolved into one of the Aegean's most sophisticated small towns. Its beaches — Kolymbithres' wind-sculpted granite, Golden Beach's kitesurfing water — are among the finest in Greece.
FFGR Greece Paros Programme
The full Paros circuit: Parikia Old Town and the Panagia Ekatontapiliani cathedral, the marble quarries of Marathi (source of the Parian marble used in the Venus de Milo), lunch at a vine-covered taverna in Lefkes mountain village, afternoon at Kolymbithres beach, and Naoussa harbour for the sunset aperitivo.
Paros as Base for Naxos and Antiparos
Positioned centrally in the Cyclades, Paros is the ideal base for day trips to Naxos (30 minutes by ferry) and Antiparos (10 minutes by caïque). FFGR Greece coordinates all island-hop transfers.
