Thessaloniki operates at a different tempo from Athens: more intellectual, more musical, more consistently committed to its own extraordinary identity. The Byzantine walls, Ottoman mosques, Roman forum, and Jewish quarter whose history spans 2,400 years are not tourist attractions — they are the daily context in which the city lives. FFGR Greece provides Thessaloniki ground services with resident drivers who are proud of that fact.
Makedonia Airport to the Waterfront
Thessaloniki Makedonia International Airport (SKG) is 15 kilometres southeast of the city centre — a 20-minute drive on the Egnatia motorway to the waterfront hotel district. The Makedonia Palace, Electra Palace, and Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki are each 3 kilometres from the city centre; our airport protocol delivers principals in under 25 minutes from aircraft stop.
Private aviation at SKG uses the main terminal with Swissport handling a dedicated arrivals lane for pre-cleared passengers.
Byzantine Thessaloniki
No city in Europe concentrates Byzantine monuments like Thessaloniki: 15 churches on the UNESCO World Heritage list, including the Rotunda of Galerius (4th century), the Hagia Sophia (older than its Istanbul namesake), and the Acheiropoietos (5th century). A private guided circuit of the Byzantine heritage requires four hours.
We work with two licensed Byzantine art historians who provide private morning tours of the Upper City, including the Heptapyrgion fortress, the churches of Agios Georgios and Agia Aikaterini, and a walk along the Theodosian Walls.
Halkidiki — 90 Minutes South
Halkidiki, the three-fingered peninsula 60 kilometres south of Thessaloniki, is home to Porto Carras Grand Resort and the exclusive Ammon Zeus. The third finger, Athos, is the monastic republic of Mount Athos — accessible only by men with a special permit.
We operate a dedicated Halkidiki circuit: airport arrival, lunch in the city, drive to the peninsula by 3 pm. For male clients with the Mount Athos diamonitirion, we coordinate ground transfer to the Ouranoupoli ferry terminal at 5:30 am.
