Rhodes is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Europe — a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose Knights' Quarter walls have stood for 700 years. It is also an island of forty beaches and a southern cape, Prasonisi, where two seas meet in visible collision. FFGR Greece operates Rhodes ground transport as a specialist service, with drivers who are art-history graduates as well as professional chauffeurs.
Rhodes Airport to the Medieval City
Rhodes International Airport (RHO) sits 13 kilometres southwest of Rhodes Town. For arrivals at the private aviation terminal — a dedicated FBO facility — FFGR Greece positions on the airside and meets the principal at the aircraft stairs.
The Medieval City itself is pedestrianised; vehicles enter only through the Amboise Gate to a designated drop-off zone. Our protocol positions the luggage porter at the gate before the vehicle arrives, so the client steps from the car directly to an escort.
Lindos — The Acropolis and the Village
Lindos is the most dramatic town on Rhodes: a whitewashed village over a steep rocky outcrop, with an ancient acropolis at the summit and a sheltered bay below. The road from Rhodes Town to Lindos is 55 kilometres — a 50-minute drive.
The acropolis is accessible only on foot from the village, via a 15-minute climb. We time the visit for 7:30 am, when the site is cool and essentially empty.
The Interior and Butterfly Valley
The Valley of the Butterflies — a wooded gorge that fills with Jersey Tiger moths from June to September — is one of the island's most unusual natural experiences. Our interior circuit combines the Valley with the hilltop village of Embona, where the Emery winery produces from the slopes of Mount Attavyros.
The interior of Rhodes is rarely visited by package tourists and provides the most authentic experience of Aegean life: stone churches, working olive presses, and tavernas serving traditional Rhodian pitaroudia.
